KIA’s journey in Pakistan has been nothing short of a saga. It first entered the Pakistani market in the mid-1990s with models like the KIA Pride hatchback and the sturdy KIA Ceres pickup. However, the road was bumpy due to issues with its then-partner, Naya Daur Motors. But KIA’s story didn’t end there. In December 1998, a new chapter began with Dewan Farooque Motor Company Limited (DFML), which also brought Hyundai on board. They set up Pakistan’s first automobile manufacturing plant, capable of producing 10,000 vehicles annually. Sadly, the venture hit a roadblock in 2008 when Dewan Motors went bankrupt, leading to KIA and Hyundai's exit from Pakistan.

Fast forward to 2017, and KIA made a powerful comeback, this time with the backing of Lucky Cement of YBG. This revival has been nothing short of spectacular, with KIA Lucky Motors bringing globally acclaimed KIA models to Pakistani consumers, reigniting the brand’s legacy.
